Norway's Thor Hushovd won stage five of the Tour of Spain on Wednesday after outpacing his rivals in a frenetic sprint finish. Hushovd finished the 176km (109.37 miles) course in three hours, 41 minutes and 52 seconds.
Spain's Miguel Martin Perdiguero finished second, with compatriot Josep Jufre back in third - but Spanish climber Iban Mayo abandoned the race.
Australia's Brad McGee kept hold of the overall race lead.
Hushovd took the green jersey as the top sprinter at this year's Tour de France.
