Greechan was taken to a tie-break in both her games on Wednesday |
Jersey's Lindsey Greechan has slipped back to third in her group at bowls' Champion of Champions tournament. The former world under 25's champion must beat Kenya's Maureen Burns in her final group match on Thursday to guarantee a quarter-final place. On Wednesday, Greechan lost to Camilla Leung from Hong Kong on a tie-break. She went on to recover to beat bottom of the group Spaniard Winifred Eagle on a tie-break which left her two points off English leader Edna Bessell. Her husband Tommy, who is already out of the reckoning for a place in the last eight of the men's event, lost both his games on Thursday in straight sets to England's Andrew Squire and New Zealand's Russell Meyer. He is currently ninth in his group.
