Middleton top scored for Wolves with 23 points. |
Worcester Wolves are one of the early pace setters in the BBL after their second win of the season when they hammered Essex Pirates 44-93. Wolves began well with Rod Middleton opening the contest with back-to-back three pointers as they went on to lead 23-11 after the opening quarter. An early 10-0 burst by the Wolves put them further ahead but the Pirates hit back with an 11-2 response. Worcester remained in control and led 56-33 at the end of the third. Worcester ended any hopes of a home fight-back with a 14-0 run before Zac Gachette added six points late on for Pirates. Wolves head coach Paul James said afterwards: "It was a very professional performance and I was impressed with our attitudes throughout."
