Worthing Thunder coach Titmuss joy at play-off place
Worthing Thunder head coach Dave Titmuss says finishing in the BBL play-off places proves his side are a competitive franchise.
Sunday's 108-99 overtime victory over the Plymouth Raiders secured eighth place for the Thunder.
Titmuss told BBC Sussex: "I'm absolutely thrilled for the club. I'm really proud of what we've done.
"It's a signal to the progress we have made. I think it establishes us as a team in the country's top league."
He added: "The players have shown tremendous grit over the last four games."
Worthing will now play BBL champions Newcastle Eagles in the play-off quarter-finals on Friday.
Titmuss said: "There's no question in my mind they're the stand-out team in the country. It's a real David and Goliath game for us. We've got to go there with a mindset of causing the upset.
"We will certainly be representing Worthing with everything we've got."
