Flournoy's side have won the BBL title for four out of the last five seasons |
Newcastle Eagles have been crowned champions of the British Basketball League for the fourth season in five to secure a double for the 2010 season. Defeat for rivals Sheffield Tigers by Worthing Thunder, following the Eagles win against Scottish Rocks, ensured Fab Flournoy's side sealed the silverware. Success in the league has given the North East side a quarter-final play-off date with Worthing on Friday. Eagles already lifted the Trophy with a defeat of Cheshire Jets in March. The win is Newcastle's 13th title in the last five years, a run that began with their first Trophy success in 2005.
