Giedrius Knysas made his debut for Worcester Wolves on Saturday |
Worcester Wolves lost to Leicester Riders by just one point in the BBL in a thrilling match at the University of Worcester on Saturday. Duane James scored the game-winning points for the Riders, who are now level with Cheshire Jets in 6th place, with 57 seconds left on the clock. Leicester had held the lead at the end of the first three quarters. But with the match tied at 78-78, James kept his cool to secure the Riders' victory with two free throws. Wolves head coach Paul James said: "We will evaluate what happened. The guys are very down in the locker room. "We need to show character to get back up for our BBL Trophy match at Plymouth Raiders on Wednesday. "It was a physical game played right on the edge. Leicester took their chances so good luck to them. "We would desperately have liked to win this match to drag them back towards us as we compete for a play-off place." New signing Giedrius Knysas was handed his Wolves debut on Saturday.
