Rowe is highly rated by Raiders coach Gary Stronach |
Forward Anthony Rowe has extended his contract with Plymouth Raiders until the end of the current season. The 23-year-old joined the Raiders on a short-term contract in November and has been an integral over Gary Stronach's team ever since. Rowe has averaged 11.1 points and nine rebounds per game, and has helped the team win their last two matches. Stronach said: "We're looking for him to continue that form and help the team continue our recent good run." He added: "Anthony is a young player with a great future ahead of him. "I'm delighted that he's committed himself to the team for the remainder of the year." Rowe said that signing for Plymouth on a permanent basis would give him a great opportunity to develop his game. "Playing in the BBL and under coach Stronach is going to help me get to the level I want to be at," Rowe said. "We aren't where we want to be in the league yet, but there is so much potential there for the remainder of the season and I want to be around for that success." The Raiders have enjoyed something of a mini-revival of late, picking up two wins in their last two games after previously having only won once all season. Last Wednesday, Stronach's men beat Glasgow Rocks 77-74 at home and then overcame Guilford Heat by 78-71 on Sunday. Although the Raiders remain bottom of the BBL, they are now level on points with Worcester Wolves, Essex Pirates and London Capital.
