Plymouth Raiders have reinforced their squad with the signing of the club's former youngster Anthony Rowe. Rowe, 23, started his playing career in the Raiders' junior development system, before moving to North Georgia State College on a scholarship in 2005. After graduating from North Georgia the forward joined French side Cognac in July, but he has now left the club. Plymouth-born Rowe has signed a deal with the Raiders until 20 December, which both parties hope to extend. Raiders head coach Gary Stronach said the addition of the 6ft 8ins forward would provide a boost to the whole squad. "We're delighted to have signed Anthony," he said. | Getting the chance to come back to Plymouth is a dream come true |
"His enthusiasm is infectious and he's going to make a big contribution to this team. "He's developed a lot since he left Plymouth, both physically as a basketball player and as a person." Rowe is expected to go straight into Stronach's team for the visit of Leicester Riders to the Plymouth Pavilions on Friday. And the player himself said that pulling on the green Raiders jersey would fulfil a life-long ambition. "Getting the chance to come back to Plymouth and play in front of my family, friends, and the great fans of the Raiders, is a dream come true," said Rowe. "I grew up watching the Raiders and always wondered if I would get to play and make a big contribution to the team and now I have that chance."
