Leicester Riders coach Rob Paternostro wants to erase last weekend's BBL Cup disappointment when they travel to Worthing Thunder on Saturday. Riders went out of the cup 167-152 on aggregate to Sheffield Sharks. Paternostro told the club website: "It will be a difficult game, that is a tough place to play, we know we have to play an intelligent game to do well." He added he was proud of his side last weekend but still regarded it as a "missed opportunity". Riders lost 86-74 at EIS Sheffield on Friday and narrowly lost at home 78-81 on Saturday. Paternostro added: "I was proud of the way we competed, we pushed the Sharks and made it a game but all credit to them for making the plays that they needed to make to go through." On Worthing he said: "They have been a little unlucky with some injuries, but if they can stay healthy they are going to be a team to be reckoned with in the second part of the season."
