Leicester Riders head coach Rob Paternostro blamed missed chances in the first leg for his side's BBL Cup exit at the hands of Sheffield Sharks.

"We missed an opportunity on Friday. We played well but didn't make our shots," he told BBC Radio Leicester.

"On Saturday, we just had too much of a mountain to climb. We did come back and got to within six points but then we had a lay-up that we missed."

Leicester lost both legs of the BBL Cup semi-final.

Leicester Riders LaTaryl Williams added: "They were tough matches. Sheffield played two great games and they were well prepared.

"It comes down to the guys playing well together. They played together as a team a little bit better than we did - that was the difference."
