Worcester Wolves coach Chuck Evans says Lithuanian point guard Evaldas Zabas will be key for his side this season.
The 21-year-old, who grew up in Canada, scored 25 points in the Wolves first win of the season over London Capital last week.
Evans told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "I believed he would be good, I just did not think it would happen this early."
"He's absorbed everything that I have tried to teach him and he has been rewarded for it," he added.
Evans had been looking to bring a new player in to support Zabas following the departure of Anthony Martin, but the American now feels this is not necessary.
"We're doing point guard by committee and there is a lesser sense of urgency to bring someone in and actually it's not even being considered at this point."
The Worcester Wolves will be hoping for their second win of the season against Leicester Riders at the University of Worcester on Sunday.
