Newcastle Eagles coach Fab Flournoy believes his trio of summer signings proved their worth following their BBL Trophy semi-final win against Everton.
Eagles now face a repeat of last year's final with Guildford Heat and Flournoy paid tribute to Reggie Jackson, Tafari Toney and Trey Moore for their efforts.
"They've finally answered the call, the fact that they are talented and fit the system," he told BBC Radio Newcastle.
"All the guys played extremely well, it was outstanding."
Eagles have suffered heartbreak at the final stage during the last couple of seasons, notably last term when they lost the finals of both the British Basketball League Cup and Trophy.
However they were crowned League champions following their play-off win against the Scottish Rocks.
Under Flournoy the Eagles have become one of the most successful teams in the BBL and no strangers to silverware.
But following the two-leg win against the Tigers, New Yorker Flournoy admitted the win against Everton felt just as special as those early successes.
"It felt the same as our first trophy win, as the semi-final against Chester in our first trophy win, that same type of buzz," he added.
