Fitzpatrick never broke into the Plymouth Raiders team |
Plymouth Raiders' Patrick Fitzpatrick has left the club by mutual consent. The 31-year-old forward, who holds Irish and American dual nationality, is back in his native USA for a family event and will not return to Devon. "I haven't had as much playing time as I would have hoped," said the former Irish Superleague player. "With the transfer window closing at the end of this month, I'm looking at an opportunity that will let me showcase my ability," he added. Fitzpatrick will hope to find a team elsewhere which will give him the game time he needs to up his statistics. | I fully understand and support his decision | He scored just 20 points in 25 appearances for the Raiders and played just over 20 minutes in league matches. "It's been a real pleasure working with Pat and he has a fantastic work ethic," said head coach Gary Stronach. "It was difficult to get him into the rotation with Kabama, DeAntoine and now Gerald all being able to play the small forward position. I fully understand and support his decision, and wish him the very best for his future career," he added. It means Raiders are now looking for two new faces to fill up their roster after the retirement of Gavin Love last week.
