A Tim Sills brace helped reignite Torquay's promotion ambitions as they defeated Altrincham.

Torquay took an 18th minute lead when Wayne Carlisle reached the by-line and crossed for Sills to head past Altrincham keeper Stuart Coburn.

Coburn hauled down Elliot Benyon in the 55th minute and was subsequently beaten from the spot by Sills.

Benyon then added a 75th minute third before Altrincham netted late on through defender Matthew Doughty.
