The third team was seen as a way of bringing young players through |
Plymouth Raiders have been forced to withdraw their third team from National League Division Four after they could not find a coach. The team was set up this summer and was designed as a bridge between the second team and the under-18s squad. The club had a coach in place for the side but he moved away from the area. "We have been left in a situation that was proving impossible for us to continue with," chief executive Dave Briggs told the club website. "I think we possibly tried to grow too quickly and made the mistake of not having adequate coaching back up for this eventuality. "It's a decision that the club hoped not to have to make but we are now determined to forge ahead and continue providing excellent opportunities to our players. "The excellent contributions being made by our junior players to Raiders 2 is demonstrating that our junior players are making significant strides in their development."
