Burchell is charged with finding the next generation of Raiders |
Plymouth Raiders have announced the appointment of Jamie Burchell as their full-time head of development. The role will try and increase the number of young players coming through the club's ranks and improve coaching for present and future Raiders players. "I have been given the chance to ensure that all players within the development teams have the very best opportunities to progress," said Burchell. The club is also hoping to appoint two new European coaches to help the side. Raiders vice chairman Damon Lenszner said: "Jamie is a fantastic coach with a great understanding of what makes a Raider. "We have given him the backing to build a premier development programme and we are sure he will have great success in his new role." The Raiders will be holding trials for their development sides for players aged from 12-18 on Saturday, 14 June at Ridgeway School in Plympton.
