Martin is the third of last year's squad to commit to Plymouth |
Plymouth Raiders guard Anthony Martin has agreed a new one-year deal to stay at the club. Martin, who joined in September 2007, led the Raiders with four assists per game last season. "I want to win a championship. That's why I am coming back to Plymouth," said 27-year-old Martin. "I have great belief in what the Raiders are doing, and I want to help them get to the finals and come away with some silverware." Martin formed a potent back court partnership with Drew Lasker and head coach Gary Stronach says he is delighted to have him back. "Anthony surprised a lot of people around the league last season," said Stronach. "He was a big find for us, and really helped us progress as a team. He also quickly became a real crowd favourite. "He brings high energy, high octane offense to the table for us as well as continuing to fit in with my philosophy." Martin is the third member of last season's squad to commit for 2008-09. He joins Terrence Durham and James Noel who have both agreed extended terms.
