Huggins' contribution was vital to Britain's success

Great Britain had to put in a late charge to claim a 72-69 overtime success over Albania in their Eurobasket Group B qualifer.

GB dominated early on, thanks to veteran forward Roger Huggins, before the home side took control.

It was only a powerful last quarter by captain Andrew Sullivan that brought the visitors back in with a chance.

Nate Reinking's late three-pointer sent the game to overtime and Huggins and Reinking combined to secure the win.

After looking comfortable in the opening quarter, when eight points from veteran forward Roger Huggins enabled them to establish a 16-11 lead, Albania's long-range shooters started to cause problems.

Sokol Kasmi ignited a 15-7 run with the team's first three-point success of the night, and two more from Florian Miftari and another from Kasmi brought Albania the lead at 32-29.

Britain levelled, but threes from Kasmi and Erkand Karaj put the visitors behind again at 49-46 after three quarters.

Reinking's late three-pointer gave GB hope and they seized the initiative in the extra period with the hosts failing to score a goal for the first four minutes.
