Great Britain got their European Championship qualifying campaign off to a losing start, going down 73-62 to Slovakia on Saturday. The recalled Yorick Williams was the only British player to reach double figures as Slovakia proved too strong.
Five points in a row from Daniel Novak eventually sealed victory for the home side in Spisska Nova Ves.
Nate Reinking and Andrew Sullivan had nine points each for Britain, while David Toya led the Slovaks with 17.
Britain's next game is against the Netherlands at Meadowbank next weekend and veteran Roger Huggins, who returned to the Great Britain team against Slovakia after five years out, knows his side need to return to winning ways.
"We have to beat them," he insisted. "Slovakia weren't a better team than us.
"If we can play with the same defensive control we showed today and get a few scoring spurts then we can beat Holland."
"With the type of team we have - young and explosive - I thought we'd make the surge to win the game.
"I don't know if the reason why we didn't was mental - we did lose our heads a bit. After moving the ball well to stay in the game we took a couple of ill-advised shots and they got away to score off them."
