Johnson-Deely has won two golds at the Jeux des Iles |
Jersey's young athletes have won six medals at the Jeux des Iles in Majorca. Shadine Duquemin and Felicity Johnson-Deely led the charge on Friday night with Duquemin winning the girl's discus and Johnson-Deely 1500m. Johnson-Deely won gold again in the 800m on Saturday morning, Elliot Dorey got silver in the boy's 800m and Molly Jehan bronze in the 400m hurdles. Away from the track, Natasha Studdard won a bronze in the 200m Individual Medley at the pool on Saturday. Coach Keiron Bowbrick said Studdard's third-place made up for Friday's luck. "The girls were so close yesterday (Friday), Natasha just missed out on a medal finishing fourth in the 400m freestyle and it was fourth for Leila Osmond too in the 200m breaststroke. "Thee girls have enjoyed the whole experience and swimming in the outdoor pool too, so to cap off the meet with a medal was a bonus."
