Rowe won the Easter weekend event

Alan Rowe and Samantha Herridge emerged as Guernsey's top triathletes over the Easter weekend's combined 10 by 10 by 1000 challenge.

The new event combined a 10k road run on Friday with a 10-mile West Coast cycling time trial on Saturday and a 1000 metre swim gala on Sunday.

Rowe and Herridge produced outstanding performances with the quickest splits for their respective genders.

Club president Mark Naftel said: "I'm sure it could become an annual event."

With three sports clubs working together it was a team effort and overall winner Alan Rowe praised everyone's efforts.

"I must put on record our thanks to both the GIAAC and the Guernsey Velo Club for allowing us to take part in their Easter events, its great to see the individual sports clubs working together on events like this," said Rowe.
