Future of Grand Prix is secured

Lincoln Grand Prix
Cyclist tackle the circuits 1 in 6 climb

The organisers of the Lincoln Grand Prix have confirmed the future of the cycle race has been secured until 2012.

Abstraction Ltd has signed a three-year deal to become the title sponsors for the race, which is being held this year on 10 May.

Event Organiser Ian Emmerson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I have lost two or three sponsors this year due to the economic climate.

"So to have Abstraction is a bit of a life saver really".

The event, which attracts riders from across the world, is run over 11 laps of an eight-mile circuit which includes a climb over cobbled streets, with the final sprint to the finish coming in Castle Square.
