Jon Froggatt almost scored a late winner for Boston at Ossett Town
Boston United could be safe from relegation in the Unibond Premier Division, with Cammell Laird set for demotion at the end of the season.
The Lairds' Kirklands ground has failed to meet the league's required grading.
If their appeal is rejected Boston will avoid the drop as they cannot now finish in the division's bottom three.
A win at Nantwich on Tuesday would mathematically ensure the Pilgrims' safety regardless, after their 0-0 draw at Ossett Town on Saturday.
Ryan Clarke and Tom Matthews went close for Boston with long-range efforts before Ossett were reduced to 10 men four minutes from the break, as Darren Thornton was sent off for hauling down Ricky Miller as the striker threatened to go through on goal.
Boston dominated the second half but failed to take advantage of the extra man, though Jon Froggatt almost snatched a late winner when his header came back off the post.
Manager Steve Welsh told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We had enough chances to win the game but I can't fault the players' efforts.
"There were times this season when I thought, "will this season ever turn for us?", but it has and it's hard work that's done it."
In the Unibond First Division South, Grantham town ended a run of four defeats with a 4-1 victory at Goole. Billy Stubbs netted twice for the Gingerbreads with James Knowles and Danny Hargreaves also on target, while Sean Cann scored his 21st goal of the season in Lincoln United's 3-1 defeat by Retford United.
Jamie Clarke bagged a brace in Stamford's 3-2 loss at Gresley Rovers to take his tally to 23, and Spalding United drew 2-2 at home to Willenhall town with goals from Luke Kennedy and Ben Crane.
