Jersey duo picked to represent GB

Alex Buesnel has been selected for the competition in Gran Canaria

Jersey's Alex Buesnel and Samantha Godel have qualified to represent the British Gymnastics Disabilities Squad.

The pair will be part of the team competing at the Bloome Festival of Gymnastics in Gran Canaria in November.

Jersey Special Gymnastics Club coach John Grady said: "It's a great honour for the gymnasts, the club and Jersey.

"They were among the fittest and strongest of the gymnasts and, skill-wise, were at a level equal or better than most other squad members."

Jersey's Harry Smale has also been selected as first reserve.

Grady added: "All the Jersey gymnasts showed that the hard work they had been putting in at training back in Jersey had prepared them well."
