Harry Smale has been selected for the British Disabilities squad

Jersey gymnasts Harry Smale and Alex Buesnel have been selected for the British Gymnastics Disabilities men's artistic national squad.

The pair, who are two of the island's leading gymnasts with learning difficulties, will be competing against athletes with other disabilities.

Jersey's Martyn Miles failed to make the squad after being affected by illness during the selection stage.

The national squad will meet up for a training weekend in July.

Smale won two bronze medals at the 2007 Special Olympics World Games in Shanghai and is seen as one of the island's top special gymnasts.
