Daley has been diving since the age of seven |
Beijing hopeful Tom Daley beat Olympic medallist Peter Waterfield to win his second gold of the British Diving Championships in Manchester. Daley, 13, trailed at the midway point but rose to the challenge to pip the 26-year-old 2004 silver medallist with his last dive and win the 10m platform.
"It was one of my best ever dives and came at exactly the right time.
"It proves that anything can happen and you have to keep belief," said Daley, who also won the 10m synchro.

"After my first two dives, I knew I had do something special to simply get into the top two."
The Plymouth schoolboy, who was named the BBC's Young Sports Personality of the Year in December, will now concentrate on earning Great Britain qualification for the 10m synchro event at the Beijing Games.
Daley and his partner Blake Aldridge will aim to do that by finishing in the top eight at the World Cup event in Beijing in February.
He would then have to compete against Waterfield and his 10m synchro partner Leon Taylor, who is currently injured, at the British trials in Sheffield for the British team's one place at the Beijing Olympics.
The women's 3m event in Manchester went all the way to the final dive with Jodie McGroarty winning gold.
