Taylor hopes to be back in action by the end of the year |
Olympic diving silver medallist Leon Taylor has had surgery on his shoulder for the fourth time. The injury forced the Sheffield diver to miss the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in March.
But the 28-year-old believes the latest operation will cure the problem and allow him to return a stronger diver.
"It's going to be a tough journey back but if the operation achieves what it set out to do I can return to diving before the end of the year," he said.
"The positive is that it still gives me enough time to be fit again before the National Championships in December.
"That has always been my target as it will be my chance to qualify for next year's World Championships," he added.
Taylor partnered Peter Waterfield to win silver in the synchronised 10m diving event at the 2004 Athens Games and bronze at last year's World Championships.
