Kevin Doolan to lead Ipswich Witches in Premier League
Doolan won the Premier League treble with King's Lynn in 2006
Ipswich Witches have announced their side for the 2011 Premier League, with Kevin Doolan at number one.
The Australian is joined by former Witches Chris Schramm and Morten Risager as well as Taylor Poole, Lasse Bjerre, Chris Mills and Jerran Hart.
Doolan arrives from King's Lynn Stars where he sat out the back end of last season with a broken wrist.
"I'm very excited about the team we've got together," director of speedway Chris Louis told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"Kevin Doolan has got great experience, he's a genuine number one along with Morten Risager in his first drop down to the Premier League.
"Morten's a lad who has got all of the experience, he just needs to win races to get his confidence back up.
"I expect those two to lead from the front."
Louis added that the club are still in financial discussions with Doolan and Risager, but could not foresee any problems.
Doolan had a season at Foxhall in 2006, when Ipswich were an Elite League side, while Dane Risager was with the Witches as recent as 2009.
Australian Poole, 18, arrives from the Stoke Potters while 17-year-old Dane Lasse Bjerre departs the Peterborough Panthers after guest riding for King's Lynn last season.
Mills, 27, was a victim of the Stars' early season cull in 2010 after some poor results but re-entered the squad in September.
And 19-year-old Hart heads to his hometown club after a mixed season with Scunthorpe and Bournemouth.
"We've started with a clean sheet of paper which in some ways is very nice," added Louis.
"We're very excited, especially with the team we've got, I'll be that little bit more hands on because some of the riders don't quite have the experience.
"I'm looking forward to the fun of speedway again, I think the fans are going to love it."
