Diamonds triumphed 96-83 on aggregate in the two-leg semi, adding to their Premier League play-off and Trophy final achievements this season. Dakota North top scored for the Tynesiders, notching 12 points, with Rene Bach picking up 11. Edinburgh Monarchs provide the opposition in the Knockout Cup final. "We had a really tough match, and some of our lads just struggled," team boss George English said of the success. | Dakota managed to make up for what was lacking elsewhere, Newcastle team boss George English |
"But with Dakota in such superb form he managed to make up for what was lacking elsewhere, and we took the victory that once again was well deserved as we go on to meet Edinburgh in the Final." Next up for the Diamonds is the Premier League Play Off semi-final first leg against Sheffield Tigers on Thursday. The second leg takes place at Brough Park on Sunday, with a fixture against Elite League side Ipswich Witches awaiting the winner.
