Montpellier took charge of pool three in the European Challenge Cup with an accomplished 32-8 win over an inexperienced Newcastle side.

But after the break the French side upped their tempo and pulled away.

Tries by Quentin Doumayrou and Seta Tuilevuka were complemented by 13 points from the boot of Paillaugue.
