Ipswich's Kozza Smith learning Elite League trade

Kozza Smith has admitted that riding for the Ipswich Witches is proving to be an education.

The King's Lynn asset is doubling-up with the Elite League's bottom side.

He told BBC Radio Suffolk: "It's so much sharper and quicker in the Elite League it's surprising how much quicker and different it is.

"In the Premier League you can get away with little mistakes. I'm trying to iron those creases out and learn how to not make the mistakes."

He added: "In the starts and first corners, a little mistake and they've got you."

The Australian had already stated his desire to spend another campaign doubling-up before trying to become an outright top-flight rider.

If the offer's on the table then we can see

It is yet to be decided if Smith will be in a Witches helmet next year.

"If the offer's on the table then we can see," he said.

"But it's a good track and now it's been widened it seems OK. It's making for some good racing so hopefully it can keep going."

Ipswich are already consigned to a relegation play-off but must face table-toppers Poole before that on Thursday.
