Swindon Robins rider Morten Risager admits struggle

Swindon rider Morten Risager admits he has not lived up to expectations so far this season.

The 22-year-old Dane was close to being sacked by the Robins earlier this season after he produced a string of poor performances.

Risager told BBC Wiltshire: "I have been struggling badly for most of the season really.

"I've not lived up to my own expectations or the expectations of the club and the fans."

Risager's low scoring saw him drop to reserve when the new averages were released at the start of July.

"I got my new average which I should be able to live up to and I'm more confident that I will be staying here now." he said.

"In late April I was very, very scared of losing my team spot.

"Because of how it's gone for me over the last two or three years - I've had so many different clubs and getting dropped as soon as I had a bad spell - I was sure it was going to happen again."
