Newcastle Diamonds marched into the final of the Premier Trophy on Tuesday with a 46-44 win at the Norfolk Arena. Trophy holders King's Lynn Stars endured a rare home defeat, and never looked like overturning Sunday's first-leg deficit of 20 points. Kenni Larsen top-scored for Diamonds with 14, and 5-1 wins in heats three and five put them in early control. Lynn only managed two maximum-points wins all night, both by reserves pair Darren Mallett and Kaspar Wortmann. King's Lynn team manager Rob Lyon told BBC Radio Norfolk: "We felt that we'd got a good chance of pulling it back, but as it proved Newcastle really came out and attacked it. "They deserved the victory, let alone the aggregate victory, they deserved the result on the night, they rode really well," he said. "Unfortunately we had too many wrong attitudes tonight, not enough riders wanting it enough, and when you've got that cocktail you're not going to win meetings."
