Lewis Kerr marked his first competitive ride for King's Lynn with a point as the Stars' youth team defeated Bournemouth in the Knockout Cup. The 20-year-old, who only took up speedway six months ago, helped the Stars to a 52-39 win. Kerr, from Snettisham, told BBC Radio Norfolk: "I learnt a lot and I'm happy I got off the mark with a point. "I'll just keep improving, keep to my average and try to score as many points as I can in every meeting." King's Lynn promoter Keith Chapman has compared Kerr to Darcy Ward, who was the 2009 number one at the Norfolk Arena and is now racing for Elite league leaders Poole Pirates.
