Doolan is now King's Lynn's number one rider |
King's Lynn Stars maintained their unbeaten home record in the Premier League this season with a 49-44 victory over Workington Comets. Kevin Doolan was unbeaten and finished with a paid 15 maximum. But captain Tomas Topinka fell on the final bend of the last heat meaning the Stars earn just two points. Stars team manager Rob Lyon told BBC Radio Norfolk: "It was always going to be a difficult meeting - from my point of view it's a point dropped." Chris Schramm returned to the Norfolk Arena as a Comets rider for the first time since leaving Lynn during the close season. "Chris can ride as good as anyone around this place and is capable of doing some real damage," said Lyon. Schramm was part of the side that won the treble last year. The Stars turn their attention to the Premier Trophy for the first leg of their semi-final against Newcastle on Sunday.
