David Norris is preparing for his last appearance for the Eastbourne Eagles after a 21-year speedway career.

The 37-year-old will bid farewell to the Arlington Stadium in a special testimonial meeting on Saturday.

Norris told BBC Sussex: "It's all gone by so quick but if I went through it all again I wouldn't change a thing.

"It's the end of that chapter now unfortunately but I've had plenty of smiles. I'm pleased to have been in the sport for that many years."

Norris spent a total of 17 years with the Eagles in four different spells, as well as time in Poland and Sweden.

He said: "I think I was six years old when I first went and I looked at the Eagles as heroes.

"Eastbourne has been my passion - that's why I stayed there for so long. It's been a pleasure to ride for the club.

"Certainly it'll be an emotional day and I expect there'll be a tear shed somewhere along the line."
