Eastbourne Eagles have approached several riders with a view to replacing the injured David Norris.
The 36-year-old will miss the rest of the season with a broken arm, dashing earlier hopes of a comeback.
Eagles boss Trevor Geer told BBC Sussex: "Martin Vaculik from Poland is our number one choice.
"We're also talking to Grzegorz Walasek and Piotr Swiderski. We've offered terms so we're just waiting to see what comes back really."
The Eagles sit in sixth place in the Elite League, having just entered the season's B fixtures.
Geer is pleased overall with the first half of their campaign: "I think the first part of the season went well for us. We made a few silly mistakes, riders struggled at times and injuries affected us a bit.
"Now we've gone into the second stage of the season the biggest concern is Davey Watt really, he's had a loss of form and we're just looking for him to get that back really. We need him scoring points."
