Eastbourne Eagles have completed the signing of Polish rider Dawid Lampart to finalise their line-up for the 2010 Elite League season.

The 19-year-old joins after the Eagles called off their pursuit of Russian Denis Gizatullin.

Co-promoter Mike Bellerby told BBC Sussex: "We're very excited to have made this signing. He's an excellent prospect for the future.

"I'm sure he'll prove to be an asset to the team and do the business here."

Lampart was a member of the Polish side which won the Under-19 European Championship and the Under-21 World Cup last year.

Bellerby added: "He's bringing his experience on the bigger tracks in particular. In Poland they tend to ride on bigger speedway tracks than we do in this country. He'll be able to bring that benefit to the team.

"The minimum expectation is that we make the play-offs at the end of the season. If we get in then we've got every chance of taking the championship.

"It's got the makings of being a very successful year for the Eagles."
