Davidsson has been one of the stars for the Hammers this season
Lakeside Hammers rider Jonas Davidsson hopes to maximise their home advantage in the first leg of the Knockout Cup final against Coventry on Wednesday.
With the two clubs evenly matched in the league this season, Davidsson told BBC Essex the home side needed to build a solid points lead to take to Brandon.
"We've had some good meetings there in the summer and it's the final so everyone will be fired up," he said.
"So you never know which way it's going to go, but 15 points would be nice."
"They will be very strong at home, but Lakeside is not their favourite track but they will try to do the hard work at home," he added.
"But hopefully we'll already have done the damage when we go back to Coventry."
The 25-year-old Swede has been the Hammers leading rider at home this season, averaging at over 10 at Purfleet.
"It's been very good for me in England and I've been very pleased with my own performance," he said.
"As a team as well we've been fighting all summer, we finished in third place and I think we should be quite happy about that."
Davidsson also added was keen to return to the Hammers line-up in 2010.
"I want to come back, I think the club want me to come back as well, so we're all pretty set for next year and we've just got to do the paperwork," he said.
