King's Lynn Stars rider Kozza Smith has thanked the club's supporters for trying to help him recover from injury.
The Australian suffered multiple injuries just before the start of the speedway season, prompting a group of fans to start a collection.
Smith told BBC Radio Norfolk the support was more than welcome.
"It's good you know, I'd like to thank them all for doing that, the medical bills ain't cheap," he said. "Hopefully this'll cover all that."
Smith suffered a punctured lung, four fractured ribs, a broken shoulder blade and a fractured arm riding for Elite League Ipswich Witches less than two weeks ago.
The 21-year-old attended the Stars' Premier Trophy victory over Rye House on Wednesday, and was confident of a speedy return.
"Fingers crossed for myself I'm hoping for the end of the month, but it depends on the doctors and whether they say I'm ready," he said.
The Stars' team manager Rob Lyon paid tribute to Smith, saying he more than deserved to get support from the King's Lynn fans while he was unable to ride.
"Kozza's a great guy, he's a good team man and he's King's Lynn through and through. He's been immense so far for us; he's not ridden but he's been a big part of the team.
"We like that and encourage that at King's Lynn; it'll be great to get him back in three to four weeks time," he said.
