Lambert was King's Lynn's rider of the year in 2008

Former King's Lynn Stars rider Simon Lambert will take his place in the Scunthorpe Scorpions side to face his old team-mates on 8 April.

Lambert was 2008 Stars rider of the year before making the move over to Scorpions this season.

Stars manager Rob Lyon expects a tough battle: "When you look at their team you can see it is solid and all their riders get round King's Lynn well."

Scunthorpe are one place above Kings Lynn in the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, the clash will mean Stars team captain Tomas Topinka will equal Ian 'Tiddler' Turner's record of 505 team appearances.

He will now only be second to Terry Betts who made 649 team appearances.
