Nicki Glanz scored maximum points in the win over Sittingbourne |
Plymouth Devils lost ground in their bid to close the gap on Conference League leaders Boston after losing 64-30 to the Barracudas on Friday. The defeat was by far their heaviest of the season as the Devils never recovered from a poor start. Tom Brown was the only Plymouth rider to get into double figures, scoring 10 points in four rides. The Devils did do better on Sunday, recording a 59-33 victory at bottom-of-the-table Sittingbourne. Kyle Hughes was the only other Devils rider to contribute significantly against Boston, scoring eight points, but his team-mates could not help him, scoring just 12 between them. However, the team got back to winning ways 48 hours later. Captain Seemond Stephens scored maximum points along with Nicki Glanz and Mark Simmonds against Sittingbourne, who have yet to get a point this season. Plymouth are third in the Conference League, two points behind Boston, who have played an extra match.
