Stephens scored maximum points as Plymouth made the semis (Pic: Nicholas Truscott) |
Plymouth are through to the semi-finals of the Conference KO Cup after an exciting 51-42 win over the Weymouth Wildcats on Friday night. It meant a seven-point aggregate win for the Devils who were two points down from the first leg. Seemond Stephens put in a captain's performance with maximum points, while Nicki Glanz only dropped one point. The victory was even better as top riders Mark Simmonds and Kyle Hughes did not race for Plymouth. Simmonds was on holiday while Hughes was away with Premier League Sheffield. It was the third time the sides had tried to play the leg at St Boniface Arena after it had twice been postponed because of rain. Plymouth will be at home to Rye House in the cup semi-final this Friday (July 18).
