Chaz Davies delighted after maiden Supersport victory
Davies claimed his maiden Supersport victory in his 19th race
Herefordshire's Chaz Davies admitted he was relieved to claim first ever World Supersport Championship win.
Davies followed up his second-placed finish at Donington with the win in Assen in the Netherlands on Sunday.
"I am chuffed as the last time I saw the chequered flag first was 10 years ago," he told BBC Hereford & Worcester.
"I have won a race since then in America but it was down to circumstances as the original winner was later disqualified."
The race was not without incident as it had to be stopped twice due to accidents.
"It was a little bit crazy but it all happened behind me every time as I felt pretty strong from the start," added Davies. "So I was able to get into the lead in every part of the race.
"For the first one [Sam] Lowes crashed out right behind me and the next one there was an accident coming out of the last corner and it got stopped again.
"It upsets your rhythm and you have to re-focus as it's easy to relax a little bit too much but you have to stay focused on the job.
"That's what I managed to do and I got to the front again in the final re-start."
While he had few real dramas during the race itself, Davies admitted he was concerned that he might not have made the starting grid at all.
"I ended up crashing with five minutes to go in qualifying, and it was a fast crash at 140mph, although I got out of it absolutely fine bar a little bang on the hand," said Davies.
"I thought the bike would be OK but it caught and then barrel-rolled a couple of times before just disintegrating.
"The rules this year are that you can't have two bikes in order to save on costs so we had a spare bike, but it had to be built from a bare chassis.
"The mechanics worked from the moment that I crashed at four o'clock, until they got the bike back when it was five o'clock on Sunday morning," added Davies.
"They did such an incredible job and if I hadn't won that race that would not have been any kind of repayment and I still feel I owe them - the drinks will be on me."
The fourth round of the World Supersport Championship will take place at Monza, Italy on Sunday 8 May.
