Redding has qualified in second four times during the 2010 season

Scott Redding has climbed in to the top 10 of the Moto2 rider's championship after his best finish of the season.

The 17-year-old from Quedgeley finished second at Phillip Island in Australia behind Alex De Angelis who had narrowly pipped him to pole in qualifying.

"What a fantastic race; I really enjoyed that - it was a good battle with De Angelis," Redding said.

"We're getting stronger and stronger every week and I'm confident that our first win will come very soon."

Reddding's best results during 2010 before Australia were a third in Indianapolis and a fourth at Silverstone.
