Histon picked up their third win on the bounce away at struggling Forest Green.

After a quiet opening period that was limited to speculative efforts, Daniel Sparkes headed the only goal of the game just after the restart.

Visiting keeper Joe Welch fouled Reece Styche with just eight minutes left to hand Green a gilt-edged opportunity to take something from the game.

Ian Herring took the resulting penalty but his effort was a tame one as Welch atoned for his error and made the save.
