Smith hopes for American sunshine

Bradley Smith
Smith has claimed two grand prix wins this season

Oxfordshire's Bradley Smith is hoping for better weather at his next race in Indianapolis after a hurricane affected the 125cc Grand Prix last year.

The 18-year old finished fourth at Brno last time out and now has his attention firmly on his test in America.

"Last year was the first time we'd raced there (Indianapolis) and they made us so very welcome, " said Smith.

"The only thing they could not organise was the weather with the tail-end of a hurricane causing chaos on race day."

He added: "I'd been taken right out of the race by Michael Ranseder on the first lap and was down in 27th place but fought back and was catching the leaders.

"I was up to eighth place when the race had to be red flagged because of the rain and wind."
