Brackley Town have snapped up former Oxford United defender Chris Wilmott on a two-year contract.
The 31-year old was a free agent after being released at the Kassam Stadium earlier this year.
Saints manager Jon Brady has included Wilmott in several Southern League games but he told BBC Oxford it is coup to agree a permanent deal.
"We feel very fortunate to have him. He will add a lot of experience to the squad and good leadership," said Brady.
"He is a very experience player, he has played over 500 league games and is very unfortunate not to be at Oxford United this year.
"He will show our youngsters a lot of things. A great influence on and off the pitch."
