Injury-plagued Oxford United defender Chris Wilmott is set to be available for pre-season training after returning to fitness.

The former Northampton centre-half has been hampered by knee problems which saw him miss most of the last campaign.

Wilmott, 30, told the club's official website: "The knee is fine now, I've been working hard all summer and it feels really good.

"I'm just looking forward to reporting back and playing matches again now."
