Linfoot is after more podium finishes before the end of the championship |
Knaresborough's Dan Linfoot is fifth in the Superstock 600 Championship with two rounds remaining. He finished fourth at the weekend in the latest rounds at Donnington Park to hold on to his standing. Linfoot recovered from a crash in the first session to come through and just miss out on a podium finish in difficult racing conditions. "In those conditions I was happy to just stay on the bike as I could have crashed three or four times," he said. Linfoot's result closed the gap between him and third-placed Marco Bussolotti to just 20 points. He added: "Once [team mate] Gino Rea got past I decided to hold back and see where he was faster and slower than me. "I got ahead of him twice on the last lap and thought I had it covered but he came back under me both times. "My championship targets are now Gino and Bussolotti. They're the two riders I can realistically still get ahead of." The next round is on 21 September in Vallenunga in Italy.
